A Very Happy 2006 to all visitors! A thousand apologies and a smacked botty for not posting anything up for the last four months – that’s not to say that I haven’t been busy, just that I had a severe case of blogstipation. So what’s been happening – mostly tons more gigs with the Ukulele Orchestra, a good concert in Liverpool Nova Scotia at the Ukulele Ceilidh in October 2005, great music by all present and we met a fantastic band called the Boulder Acoustic Society, we also did two weeks at the Riverside Studios in November which were pretty full and well reviewed.

I’ve also recently made a video for one of my songs which will be posted shortly

Keep an eye on the Ukes website as we maybe coming to your town (but we’re not the young generation and we haven’t got much to say!). Have now posted up a fair number of songs from both albums on various websites including a new page on myspace.com and I’ve had several amusing and cantankerous reviews from listeners at garageband.com for the songs TWYL (Bibbely Babbely) and Julio, a selection of which follow:

‘A lounge parody of grande proportions.’

‘Simply offensive to me as a Christian.’

‘I really prefer this song to many others full of out of tune guitars and foolish drums!’

‘Vocal arrangement was terrible. Wrong category for this song. I could barely take 90 seconds of this. Terrible lyrics...terrible lead vocals.’

‘Reminded me of a Monty Python track performed by "The Swingle Singers" with Johnny Cash singing lead.’

‘Poking fun at Julio Iglesias is fair game for me. He used to be goalkeeper you know.’

‘I don't know about you, but I don't want to be nude in front of God.’

‘Star Trek intro quickly morphs into the Ray Conniff singers fronted by Frank Zappa.’

‘Not funny. You sound like you like to hear yourself more than anything. I wasn’t even pulled in. Don’t quit your day job. If you have one! Seems like you have too much time on your hands.’

‘Weird, the song feels like you are being sincere, but you can’t be....you just can’t.’

‘I can't really tell if this is a spoof or is from Utah...nothing against Utah....Brigham Young just left certain weirdness behind.’

‘It's clever, it's catchy, it's weird as all hell, and...Christian?’

‘This is a very strange track!’
